Hotel Pirate Notification

Dear NABJ Members and Exhibitors:

It has been brought to our attention there are organizations trying to pirate the NABJ hotel block in New Orleans.  This fraud happens almost every year to us and other organizations under the premise of cheaper rooms.

We have taken steps to stop their activities.  If they have contacted you please let us know immediately.

Here’s how the scam works.  The person will tell you they are agents for NABJ.  They may insist you register with them immediately to get the preferred rate or they may tell you the reserved room block is sold out and then present you with other options.

Past experiences have indicated when you arrive at the convention your reservations are non-existent or the hotel they have put you in may be far away from the main hotel.  In some cases, the reservations were cancelled with hefty fees.

Please alert Veronique Dodson (vdodson@nabj.org) at NABJ if you have been victimized or solicited for rooms.

We strongly advise you to click on the link below to reserve your room as soon as possible because there are a limited number available for the $159 rate.  Early registration is already open so you might want to register now as well to take advantage of cheaper rates.

Thank you.
NABJ Staff
